- On the night of 27 November 2019, Priyanka Reddy was brutally murdered by some unknown persons while returning home after attending her duties at a veterinary hospital in the Kolluru village where she had been working for the past one year.
- According to police, she had gone missing on Wednesday (27 November 2019) and was found dead and burnt on Thursday (28 November 2019) morning about 30 kilometres from Shadnagar, below an underpass.
- Police said that Priyanka Reddy was left stranded in Shamshabad after her two-wheeler broke down (reportedly suffering a puncture). Her sister, Bhavya said that Priyanka had called her around 9.15 pm on the night of 27 November 2019. Bhavya also said that in the phone call, Priyanka had said that someone had offered her help to get her flat tyre repaired. Priyanka told her sister Bhavya over the phone,
I started my bike, but they started shouting from behind saying madam your tyre is flat and you cannot go ahead. Though I thought that I can get it repaired at the bus stand, they did not allow me to go ahead. They made me get down and sent a boy to repair it. But he also returned saying all shops were closed.”
- Bhavya also told the police that Priyanka had informed her that she was feeling scared; as she was stranded at a spot where there were a lot of unknown men and a number of loaded trucks parked. Bhavya told the police that she had told Priyanka to walk to the nearest toll gate and wait there. She had even told Priyanka to abandon the two-wheeler. Bhavya said,
I even asked her to come away leaving the vehicle. When I called after some time, her phone was switched off.”
- Bhavya said, Priyanka last spoke to her at 9.22 pm and her phone was switched off around 9.44 pm. After waiting for some time, they rushed to the toll-plaza to search for her. Later, they inquired at the shops, at the toll plaza and searched in the surrounding areas, and then lodged a police complaint when they could not locate her.
- On the morning of 28 November 2019, Priyanka’s badly-burnt body was discovered below the underpass by locals who then informed the police. The family members, who had then already lodged a police complaint, were then asked to come to the place where Priyanka’s body was found. They identified her with the help of a locket she was wearing. The body was handed over to her family after post-mortem.

Whoever has done this needs to be hanged to death.”
- Shamshabad DCP Prakash Reddy told reporters,
We are examining CCTV footage from the area. The police was informed at about 7:30 this morning about the burnt body. We suspect she was doused with kerosene and burnt.”
- Soon after the incident, the police formed 10 teams to track down those who may have trapped and killed Priyanka.

- On 29 November 2019, the Cyberabad police arrested the murderers of Dr. Priyanka Reddy. According to sources, they had arrested four accused and had almost solved the Priyanka’s murder case. Based on the CCTV footage, they nabbed the four culprits. According to sources, police arrested the prime suspect, Mohammed Pasha, a lorry driver who belongs to Narayanpet in Mahabubnagar. The other three, all aged 20, were cleaners J Shiva and J Naveen, and a driver, C Chennakeshavulu a.k.a. Chenna. All were residents of Makthal in Narayanpet district.
- After the interrogation of the accused, the police came out with more chilling details regarding the brutal rape and murder of Priyanka. Reportedly, the four accused continued to rape her inside the cabin of a lorry even after she had died. It was also found that they took close to one hour from the time they dragged her into the open plot, forced her to consume whiskey mixed with a soft drink, hit her on the head, raped and killed her.
