On 23 May 2021, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan called Rmdev's statement on allopathic medicine "extremely unfortunate" and asked him to withdraw the remark. The court issued its judgement in response to the petitions filed by the state units of the Indian Medical Association regarding Patanjali Ayurved's advertisement titled “Misconceptions spread by allopathy: Save yourself and the country from the misconceptions spread by pharma and medical industry,” which was published on 10 July 2022; the accusations against Patanjali Ayurved was of conducting a “smear campaign” and making false claims against evidence-based medicine. The court not only warned of the penalty but also directed the company to stop making false claims and creating misleading advertisements. [6]Mint On 27 February 2024, the Supreme Court of India issued a contempt notice against Patanjali Ayurved and its Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna for publishing advertisements of products, which violated the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 and its Rules. On 19 March 2024, the Supreme Court issued a show cause notice to Ramdev and asked why contempt proceedings be not initiated against him in Patanjali advertising case. The court also directed Ramdev and Balkrishna to appear before it to respond to contempt proceedings in the advertising case relating to the company. - In childhood, he remained silent most of the time. He was not obstinate and always remained content.
- He suffered a paralytic attack in his childhood due to the adverse effect of a medical incident that seriously affected the left side of his body, leaving him paralyzed. He credits yoga for his miraculous recovery from it.
- According to his parents, once upon a time, some saints came to his village and they recited the messages of Saint Paramhansa. Since then, he decided to be a saint.
- In a TV reality show, Ramdev disclosed that he used to study by second-hand books. He always stood 1st in the class. He used to keep books clean and the next year, he sold all the books with more price than the market price.
- When he was 6 years old, he fell off the roof while playing with his sister. He injured his head and bleeding occurred for long. He was almost dead, however, after medication, he recovered soon.
