  • Snehlata Panday was an Indian doctor, physician, and dietician, who had a wide experience in fitness & nutrition for more than 30 years.
  • At the time of Snehlata’s birth, the doctors said to her parents that she had a defective heart valve and wouldn’t survive much longer.
  • Her husband, Sharad Panday, was a heart surgeon who was one of the surgeons who carried out the nation’s first heart transplant at the King Edward Memorial Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in Mumbai.
  • Snehlata’s son Chikki Panday is a businessman and co-founder of a non-profit organization, Akshara Foundation of Arts and Learning, which supports the education of underprivileged children. Additionally, Chikki is also a member of the Steel Consumers Council and the Telephone Advisory Committees of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of India.
  • When Dr Snehlata Panday first started her work, she noticed that 20% of her patients were the ones who were truly unwell. On the other hand, the rest of 80% of the patients had medical difficulties that were always related to weight.

  • Chunky Panday spoke about his mother, Snehlata Panday, in an interview and revealed that his mother used to accompany him to performances and film shoots overseas because Chunky feared that his numerous girlfriends would become upset if he didn’t take them with him.

    I have travelled with her everywhere and I was known as a mama’s boy. Normally heroines used to take their mothers along with them while travelling for films, I was the only hero who travelled with his mom. And since I didn’t have a steady girlfriend, I used to take my mother everywhere. I am glad that she got to see the world with me.”

  • Snehlata used to dress her son Chunky as a girl till he was two years old because she desperately desired a daughter. In an interview, Chunky Panday laughed and said that she used to make him wear earrings. He further added,

    When I was born, she always wanted to have a daughter and she got a son. So, till the age of 2, she used to dress me up like a girl. I used to wear these lovely earnings and that’s why today when I go shopping, I normally pick up ladies clothes and the shopkeeper asks me if this is for my wife or for my daughter and I say, it’s for me.”

  • Ananya Panday shared a post on Instagram in which she appreciated her grandmother Snehlata Panday’s dedication to her work while saying she used to go to work at 7 am dressed up and wearing her block heels and red streaked hair even when she was 85 years old.
