Some Lesser Known Facts About Sriram Raghavan

  • Raghavan had stammering problem and was quite shy in his childhood days. He has spoken about how this made him reserved early on.
  • Before he started his career in film making, he tried journalism. Later because of his stammering problem and shy personality, he found it tough and later dropped from a journalism within a few months.
  • Before entering mainstream cinema, he worked as a writer for television soaps, writing many episodes of CID and Aahat, and also directed one episode of the television series Star Bestsellers (2000) called First Kill.
  • Some of his work in film making includes Ek Hasina Thi (2004), Johnny Gaddaar (2007), Agent Vinod (2012), Badlapur (2015).

  • For his popular Bollywood film Badlapur (2015), he initially thought of casting Irrfan Khan in the central role but eventually went with Varun Dhawan. He had reservations about doing so, but the producer persuaded him.
