  • When he was 13, he moved to London, where he completed his formal education following which he worked as Head of the South Asia division of Reuters from 1993 to 2000.
  • Before he made his entry into Bollywood, he took many odd jobs such as a math tutor, store attendant, and waiter. His first film Jhankaar Beats, starring Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Suri in the main roles, became a massive hit.

  • He formed his own production house in 2005 and named it Boundscript Motion Pictures Private Limited.

Bollywood stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Varma, and Jaideep Ahlawat said in an interview that before shooting emotional scenes, Sujoy would sing funny songs, and instead of looking at the monitor while shooting, he would keep looking at the actors enacting the scene.
