• Swapna Dutt started her career in the film industry at 18 years old as an assistant producer of the film, Azad released in 2000.

• After completing post-graduation in business administration, she worked as a line producer of the film Chiranjeeva (2005).

• Since 2006, Swapna has been the managing director of Vyjayanthi Televentures Private Limited (VTV).

• In 2008, she started a television station named Local TV which turned out to be a business failure.

• She revealed in an interview that Jr NTR (Tarak) played an important role in convincing her father regarding her intercaste marriage.

• She worked in the television industry as the producer of popular shows such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs (2007) on Zee Telugu, Narthanasala (2012) on ETV Telugu, and Nee Kongu Bangaaram Kanu (2012) on Maa TV.
