Some Lesser Known Facts About Dushyant Singh
- Dushyant Singh’s parents got separated a few weeks before his birth.
- Dushyant Singh was raised singlehandedly by his mother, Vasundhara Raje Scindia, who has served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan twice. She also held the Ministry of Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
- A few years after his birth, Dushyant’s maternal grandmother, Vijayaraje Scindia, filed a court case against Dushyant’s father, Maharaja Hemant Singh, on behalf of Dushyant to claim his share in Hemant’s property. In May 2007, a settlement agreement was made in court under which Dushyant Singh got ownership of the Dholpur Palace. Besides the Palace, he also got the ownership of a house in Shimla, a dozen vintage cars, and jewels from Dholpur’s treasury.

- In 2023, when the BJP was to pick a candidate for the Chief Minister post, Dushyant Singh was accused of forcibly keeping 5 MLAs at a resort on the outskirts of Jaipur. The allegations were made by the father of MLA Lalit Meena. However, Dushyant Singh later said that the MLAs decided to stay there on their own will and it was a move to malign his image.
