• Akanksha Puri is an Indian actress and model, who mainly works in Hindi TV serials and South Indian films. She is popular for playing the role of Nandita Menon in the Hindi film Calendar Girls (2015).

• Growing up in a middle-class family in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Akanksha pursued her primary schooling at a village school.

• During an interview, while sharing her childhood memories, Akanksha said,
  

  I come from a small town and I completed my primary education in a village, my favourite childhood memory till date is going to the government school on a horse cart and sitting under a tree, using a chalk and slate! I am an animal lover and meeting the horse who took us to the school use to get me all excited and playful.”

• She was very active in sports in her school and college days and took part in various tennis and basketball competitions. In an interview, Akanksha shared that she was very playful and energetic in childhood and people often called her a monkey for that. She said,
  

  I have always been very active in sports. I loved to play all the time and as a child, I use to climb trees and pluck mangoes. Though I used to get scolded for this but that never stopped me. I was called a monkey as no one could match my speed, wish I could time travel and go back to those stress-free joyful days.”

• After finishing up with her college studies, Akanksha began working as an international cabin crew for Vijay Mallya‘s Kingfisher Airlines.

• Meanwhile, she also worked as a model, doing photoshoots for print advertisements of many jewellery and clothing brands.

• She also appeared in the TV commercials of many renowned brands.

• In 2012, a Tamil Production House spotted her in a TV commercial and offered her a role in a Tamil film. She initially wanted to pursue a career in hospitality. However, she accepted the offer as Kingfisher Airlines was on the verge of getting shut at that time.

• She started her career as a model in 2010 by featuring in the print shoots of many popular brands. She has also appeared in various TV advertisements.

• She has endorsed several beauty, food, and clothing brands like Sunfeast Dark Fantasy, mCaffeine, and Naari Collection on her Instagram account.

• She made her television debut in 2015 with the Indian crime drama TV show CID, which airs on Sony Entertainment Television.

• In 2017, she played the role of Goddess Parvati in the Hindi TV series Vighnaharta Ganesha aired on Sony Entertainment Television. Akanksha left the show midway in 2020.

• In 2013, she made her Tamil film debut with the film Alex Pandian in which she played the role of Divya. Subsequently, she appeared in the Tamil film Tihar (2014) as Shalini.

• Her Malayalam debut came in the year 2014 with the film Praise the Lord in which she played the role of Annie.

• She played the role of Akanksha in the 2015 Kannada film Lodde, marking her Kannada debut.

• Thereafter, she played the role of Saira in the Malayalam film Samrajyam II: Son of Alexander (2015). In the same year, she played the lead role of Nandita Menon in the Hindi film Calendar Girls, which marked her Hindi film debut.

• She has also appeared in the 2019 Tamil film Action as kaira.

• Apparently, Akanksha was not the first choice for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Hindi film Calendar Girls; It was the Indian actress Meghna raj who was first selected for the role.
