  • Aradhana Misra grew up in a well-known political family in Uttar Pradesh, India.
  • Her father, Pramod Tiwari, serves as a senior Congress leader. He represented the Rampur Khas constituency in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly from 1980 to 2012. He won the seat nine times. After that, he moved to the Rajya Sabha.
  • After completing her MBA, Aradhana Misra worked in the corporate sector for some time. She has worked with Sahara India.
  • During the same time, she was associated with many social and non-profit organisations, such as the Saryu Samaj Kalyan Sansthan.
  • In the late 1990s, Aradhana Misra joined the Indian National Congress in Uttar Pradesh.
  • In 1998, she began working at local level for the party rather than directly in the state Assembly.
  • In 2002, she contested the election for Block Pramukh (chief) of Sangramgarh town in Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh and won.

  • In 2017, she again contested from the same seat and won in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election. During these elections, she defeated her opponent and BJP candidate Nagesh Pratap Singh.
  • She then continued working as the Congress MLA from the constituency.
  • In 2019, she was appointed as the Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
  • In 2022, Aradhana Misra again contested the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election from the Rampur Khas constituency for a third consecutive term.

  • During the elections, she received 84,334. She defeated her opponent and BJP candidate Nagesh Pratap Singh alias Chhote Sarkar, who received 69,593 votes. Her winning margin was 14,741 votes.

  • During these elections, Congress won only two Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh in the 2022 election. Aradhana Misra was one of those two Congress MLAs, along with Virendra Chaudhary from Pharenda.

  • That same year, she worked with Priyanka Gandhi in a Congress campaign titled “Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon” during the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
