On 21 July 2023, Harshit Rana was playing for India A against Bangladesh A during the semifinal of the Men's Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 when he had a verbal fight with Bangladeshi cricketer Soumya Sarkar. He talked about his fight with Soumya Sarkar in an interview and said that when he was celebrating Sarkar's wicket and crossed him on the field after his dismissal, Sarkar thought that Rana said something about him, hence he also said some abusive words towards Rana after which they got into a fight. Flying Kiss to Mayank Agarwal
On 23 March 2024, he was playing against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. After dismissing SRH opener Mayank Agarwal, Rana gave a flying kiss to Agarwal, who did not react and walked back to the stadium. The move was criticized by many cricket fans who later commented on social media that Rana should learn to respect senior players. In September 2024, after dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad, Captain of India C in the Ranji Trophy, Rana once again celebrated it with a flying kiss. This happened despite receiving punishement from the BCCI for doing the same in IPL 2024.   • Harshit Rana was interested in cricket since childhood and used to play cricket with friends in the streets.
  • In 2012, when he was studying in 7th standard, he started taking training in cricket at his school. He used to wake up early in the morning and practised, attended school during the day, and again trained with his father during the evening.

  • He has suffered repetitive injuries in his lower back glute due to which he missed playing for the Delhi Under-14 and Delhi Under-16 teams.
  • After recovering from the injuries, Rana played for the Delhi Under-19 team.
  • In the 2020-2021 season, he suffered a stress fracture due to which he had to rest for 6 months.
  • In September 2021, he took 7 wickets in a club cricket match in Gurugram and 8 in a club match in Ghevra, Delhi.
