Controversies | Controversial remarks on Katrina Kaif In 2021, his remarks on making the roads in Udaipurwati as smooth as actress Katrina Kaif's cheeks while addressing the people of the constituency went viral on social media. Many people found it insulting and he received criticism for it. [2]India Today Accused of kidnapping In February 2023, Gudha was accused of threatening and kidnapping a man named Durga Singh from Ward No. 31. Durga filed a complaint against Gudha at the Neem Ka Thana police station. In the complaint, he said that Gudha had earlier called and asked him where he lived. When Durga told him the location, Gudha reached there within half an hour in his official car with his PA Krishna Kumar. According to Durga, Gudha was accompanied by a red vehicle and a police van also. He further explained in the complaint that Gudha asked him to sit in his car by grabbing his collar and neck and got a blank cheque signed by him. After the complaint, Gudha in his statement said that it was CM Ashok Gehlot's mistake that such a case was filed. According to him, if a case was registered against a minister the chief minister must have known about it and should have done something about it. He further said that Durga was a fraudster and used to cheat people by taking money. Gudha alleged that a woman named Vimla Kanwar, who Durga cheated approached Gudha to ask for help, and he abducted Durga to teach him a lesson. He compared the violence against women in Manipur and Rajasthan. He was suspended by Speaker C P Joshi for the remainder of the assembly's term over the ruckus. On 24 July 2023, he was moved out of the assembly for unruly behaviour when he lashed a “red diary” of “incriminating material” against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. In a press conference, while crying in front of the media, he shared that when he went to the Rajasthan assembly, he was attacked, punched, and kicked by Congress leaders. - Rajendra Singh Gudha is an Indian politician who was elected as MLA from Udaipurwati in 2018. He made headlines on 21 July 2023 when Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot dismissed him as Minister of State for Soldiers’ Welfare for criticising the ruling Congress government in the state assembly over crimes against women.
- In 2016, he filed a complaint at Udaipurwati police station against his brothers and their sons who stopped his car and took him out of the car and while they were arguing, one of them open-fired. When the other relatives heard the noise of the bullet, they came outside, but the accused fled.
- In 2017, in a press conference organized by all major organizations of the Universal Reservation Rights Movement, he said that 14 per cent reservation given by the state government to the upper castes on an economic basis should be amended in the constitution and implemented in full. Gudha said that if all Sarvans are not given equal rights in the reservation or if no action is taken by the state government on these major demands, then a movement would be launched against it.
- In 2021, he made a controversial statement while addressing the people of Udaipurwati. He asked them if his game plan was wrong or not. In the video, he said that he gets the ticket from BSP, wins the elections and after that, he leaves the party and joins the Congress party. When he feels like leaving the Congress party he leaves it and again joins BSP. In his statement, Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam replied and said that party is like a mother and Gudha had no right to disrespect it as he does.
- In an interview in 2022, while interacting with school students in a program organized in a private school in Udaipurwati, he revealed that he was once offered Rs. 25 crores to cast his vote for a specific candidate in a Rajya Sabha election. He further added that when he talked to his wife and children about it, they said that respect was over money. During the interaction, he said,
In the last Rajya Sabha elections, I was offered Rs 25 crores to cast my vote for one candidate. I had told this to my wife and she had said we don’t want money, you will lose your reputation.”
Further talking about corruption, he also revealed that he was also offered a bribe of Rs. 60 crores. Talking about it, he said,
I was also lured by the amount, but my son and daughter and my wife told me that they want respect and not money.”
- In 2022, he started supporting INC leader Sachin Pilot meanwhile criticising Ashok Gehlot. Gudha claimed to have a red diary in which he had mentioned all the frauds done by Ashok Gehlot. Also, he gave a reply to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot who said that Congress leader Sachin Pilot was a “traitor” and that he could never become the Chief Minister of the state. Talking about this, he said,
We will leave our stake for the chief ministership if you do not find 80 per cent MLAs with Sachin Pilot… No better politician than him. BJP was badly defeated in Rajasthan when I was the state party president. Still, the Congress president gave him another chance to Gehlot to become CM. Today the priority should be on how we can again win the Rajasthan election.”
