Some Lesser Known Facts About Seema Haider
- Seema Haider is a Pakistani woman who gained significant attention in July 2023 when reports surfaced that she had illegally entered India in May 2023 along with her four children and settled in Greater Noida with her alleged Indian lover-turned-husband, Sachin Meena, whom she had met through the popular online gaming platform PUBG.
- Her initial contact with her first husband, Ghulam Haider, occurred when he unintentionally returned her missed call. From that moment, their conversations began, leading to a deepening connection and eventual love between them.
- Despite facing opposition from her family, she defied their wishes and chose to marry Ghulam in February 2014. After tying the knot, they settled in the Bhittaiabad locality of Karachi, where she gave birth to their four children. It is rumoured that Ghulam also has two children from a previous marriage.
- After working as a labourer and an auto-rickshaw driver in Pakistan for a period of time, Ghulam relocated to Saudi Arabia in 2019 as a labourer, while she continued to live in Pakistan and started playing online games to pass the time.
- During an interview with the media, Seema revealed that her initial encounter with Sachin Meena took place in July 2020 while engaging in the online game PUBG. As she frequently kept her microphone on, she often conversed with various individuals. She was particularly drawn to Sachin’s style of play and his accent, prompting them to exchange contact information after four months. From then on, they began conversing through voice calls and video calls on platforms such as WhatsApp and Instagram.
- Over time, their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship, and in January 2021, both Seema and Sachin confessed their love for one another. Motivated by their deepening affection, they began exploring ways to meet each other in person. Her intense love for Sachin allegedly led to extreme behaviour where she would harm herself by cutting her hands whenever he got angry and stopped talking to her.
- In February 2023, she applied for an Indian Visa, but unfortunately, her application was rejected. The rejection was due to a missing signature of a gazetted officer on the invitation document required for the application. Despite Sachin providing copies of his Aadhar card, she was unable to secure the necessary signature from a gazetted officer, leading to visa denial.
- Subsequently, she discovered that Indian citizens could travel to Nepal without requiring a visa. Seizing this opportunity, they made the decision to meet in Nepal in March 2023. Leaving her children behind in Pakistan, she embarked on the journey alone and finally had the chance to meet Sachin. Their first encounter took place on 10 March 2023, and they solemnized their marriage at the esteemed Pashupatinath Temple. Following the wedding, they spent a week together at a hotel in Nepal after which both went back to their native countries.
- She couldn’t go to India legally, so she decided to go through Nepal and arranged a visa for Nepal. One source says she sold her parents’ house in the village, while another source says she sold her first husband’s house.
- After receiving Rs 12 lakhs from selling the plot, Seema took a flight from Karachi to Sharjah, then another flight to Nepal. From Nepal, she travelled by van to Pokhara and crossed the border into India on 11 May 2023. - Sachin brought her to a rented room in Ambedkar Colony, which he rented for Rs 2500 per month. The room was located about one km away from his village, Rabupura. They kept their arrangement a secret, and even Sachin’s father, Netrapal Singh, who works at a nearby plant nursery, his mother, Ritu, and his five siblings were unaware of the rented room or Seema’s presence.
- On 13 May 2023, Sachin and Seema began living together. Sachin had a job at a ration shop where he earned a monthly income of Rs 13,000. During the day, Sachin worked at the shop, and in the evenings, he would visit his family. On 29 June 2023, the couple went to see an advocate in Bulandshahr with the intention of getting legally married; however, the advocate was surprised when he saw her Pakistani passport and immediately informed the police about the situation.
- On 30 June 2023, the police conducted a raid on the rented room where Sachin and Seema had been living; however, by that time, the couple had already left the room and were attempting to flee the city. - An FIR (First Information Report) with number 159/2023 was lodged at Rabupura Police Station. The FIR implicated her for illegally entering India, along with Sachin Meena and his father, Netrapal Singh aka Nittar, for allegedly aiding and sheltering an individual who had entered the country illegally. As a result, they were arrested and subsequently held at Luksar Jail.
- Netrapal Singh was granted bail on 6 July 2023, as per the court verdict. - The court also issued an order for Sachin Meena, Seema, and Netrapal Singh to reside together in the same house until the final judgment. According to their lawyer, Hemant Krishna Parashar, the three of them were required to visit the Rabupura Police Station daily to sign an undertaking, and they were not permitted to leave the town without prior permission from the police.
- After the news of her and Sachin’s relationship became widespread, the public responded with a range of emotions. Some people supported her and urged the government to grant her and her four children Indian citizenship. Many Hindu groups visited their home and offered the couple financial and emotional support; however, some people questioned her background and suspected that she might also be an ISI spy.
- When asked if she would return to Pakistan, she said that she would be killed if she did and would rather die in India than go back to Pakistan. Netrapal and Ritu, Sachin Meena’s parents, said that they would welcome the foreign daughter-in-law into their home and applauded the bravery of Seema in crossing the border.
- In a video, her ex-husband, Ghulam Haider, made an appeal to the Indian government, particularly the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to repatriate Seema and their children to Pakistan. - During a debate on a news channel, she made serious allegations against her ex-husband, Ghulam Haider, stating that he used to physically abuse her and tortured her by applying chilli powder to her face. She expressed her willingness to grant him a divorce as per the legal procedure and accused Ghulam of releasing videos to gain sympathy.
- She faced criticism from the Pakistani public who believed that she should have followed legal channels to go to India. In an interview, she also revealed that she and Sachin received death threats from certain Islamic clerics (Maulanas) in Pakistan. Furthermore, a video released by members of the Jhakrani tribe of Balochistan threatened to harm Hindu women in Sindh if Seema and her children were not returned to Pakistan.

- During an interview, she expressed her fondness for Hinduism. After marrying Sachin, she embraced Hindu practices, such as wearing the Mangalsutra (a sacred necklace symbolizing marriage) and adopting a vegetarian diet. - Seema and Sachin found inspiration for their marriage in the popular Bollywood film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ starring Sunny Deol, and she has created numerous reels on TikTok and Instagram featuring songs from the film. They also watched the film together during their time in Nepal in March 2023. In an interview, she expressed her wish for Bollywood to create a film based on her and Sachin’s love story, much like the movie ‘Veer Zara.’
- In August 2023, it was reported in the media that she was offered a role in a film based on the murder of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal by Islamic radicals.
