• Tonny Kakkar was born into an economically weak family in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

• His father, Rishikesh Kakkar, used to sell samosas outside schools and colleges to support his family.

• In 1990, Tony’s family moved to Delhi from Uttarakhand.

• While in Delhi, he started singing bhajans with his sisters, Sonu and Neha at the jagaratas. They used to receive Rs. 50 each for every performance.
