• Parshottam Rupala is a member of Rajya Sabha, who represents the Indian state Gujarat under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

• From 1977 to 1983, Parshottam Rupala worked as a school principal in Municipal Girls’ High School at Hamapur, Gujarat, India.

• From 1983-1987, Rupala served as the chief officer of the Amreli municipality. From 1988 to 1991, he served as the president of the Amreli district in the Bharatiya Janata Party. In 1992, he was given the charge of Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party from Amreli district.

• From 19 March 1995 to 20 October 1995, Parshottam Rupala served as a Cabinet Minister on Narmada river for Irrigation and Water Supply in Gujarat. He was re-elected for the same position from 4 November 1995 to 18 September 1996.

• During the Kisan Andolan movement in Delhi, Rupala addressed a mass rally at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in December 2020 and said that the Minimum Sale Price (MSP) of the crops was a part of the mechanism of the BJP government, and it would remain in force in future too, for the welfare of the farmers. He said,
  

  In fact, it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had first decided to introduce this MSP formula of agricultural cost plus 50 per cent profit as recommended by Dr Swaminathan.”

• In 2021, an Aam Adami Party member raised the issue that according to a foreign NGO’s survey, India was ranked poor in the hunger index 2020, and Rupala then replied to the AAP minister in Rajya Sabha that we should not trust these NGOs and must not be sensitive to such reports. He explained with an example,
  

  Whenever a street dog gives birth in our village, our women provide them with sheera. Even though at times it bites too, we still give them sheera. So in a country where such tradition exists, and then an NGO comes and gives such a report (regarding hunger index) about our children, we should not be sensitive to such reports.”
