  • While he was in college, he performed in a few Hindi theatre plays.
  • Since his teens, he developed an interest in photography and mountaineering.
  • His mother used to be a fan of watching films, he used to accompany his mother to film theatres. He used to love watching movies of Amitabh Bachchan.
  • Gradually, he started developing an interest in films.
  • Later, his sister applied for a film course, and he also applied for the same course.
  • From there, he met the Indian political journalist Saeed Naqvi.

  • In an interview, Kabir opened up about several incidents when he faced discrimination because of his last name ‘Khan.’ One such incident happened 15 days after the 9/11 terrorist attack when Kabir and his wife were travelling from Los Angeles to Washington. While the plane was about to take off, two FBI officers came to their seats as they had received a complaint from fellow passengers who were suspicious of the Hindi language, the couple was communicating in. He was then taken off the plane and was interrogated for more than 2 hours.
  • He once collaborated with a film director from London to make a film on the gun culture in Bihar which was to be aired on Channel 4. He even convinced the Indian politician Pappu Yadav for an interview. However, when Pappu was roaming around the village along with Kabir and his team, Pappu’s rival Anand Mohan Singh and his gang members attacked Pappu. Even a few bullets were shot at Kabir Khan’s car, however, he was saved.
  • After the 9/11 terrorist attack in India, he went to Afghanistan to shoot a documentary. There, he stepped 100-150 feet inside an active red-coloured mine. Then, one of his friends shouted that it was ‘Khatra-e-mine’ dangerous mine. He then immediately walked back outside the mine.
  • He was featured in GQ India’s list of the ‘richest and most powerful film directors in the country’ in 2023.
  • Kabir and his family share a good bond with the Indian actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
