Leah Tata began her career in 2006 as an assistant sales manager at Taj Hotels, Resorts, and Palaces in Mumbai and later worked as an assistant manager in the development department of the company.

Leah Tata then joined the Indian Hotel Industry and worked there for more than ten years, holding leadership positions. She also contributed to its operations department.

She joined the board of the Tata Medical Centre Trust (TMCT) on 2 November 2022. This trust is part of the Tata Group, focusing on healthcare and medical research.

In May 2024, Leah Tata and her two siblings, Maya and Neville, were chosen as trustees of the Tata Medical Centre Trust (TMCT), which runs a cancer hospital in Kolkata. Ratan Tata opened the hospital in May 2011.
