• Hina Khan was born into a middle-class family in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

• Hina studied at a school in Kashmir till 5th grade after which she completed her schooling at City Montessori School in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

• She once aspired to be a journalist but could not pursue it.

• During her college days, Hina worked in a call centre, where her base salary was Rs. 25,000 per month. She earned her first paycheck of Rs. 45,000 due to incentives she received from collecting significant debts from clients. While talking about this in an interview, she said,
  

  Some girls I knew in my PG used to work at a call centre, and they used to make good money. They said ‘we just call people and tell them to pay your debt.’ I said ‘bas? dhamkana hai, hadkana hai? (You just have to threaten them, berate them)? I can do it.’ Over there also, the first month I was the highest collector on the floor.”

• After graduating, Hina applied for an air hostess course, but she could not join due to malaria.

• Acting happened to her by chance as she later auditioned for the television series ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ because her friends encouraged her and got selected.

• Before joining ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,’ she attended a two-week acting crash course at actor Amardeep Jha’s acting classes.

• Hina rose to fame through her role as ‘Akshara Maheshwari Singhania’ in Star Plus’ series ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (2009). She charged Rs. 1.5 lakh per episode for it.
  

• While working on ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,’ she was offered many big projects including a Telugu film that required a 60-day schedule. She, however, turned down the offer due to her commitment to the show.

• Hina met Rocky Jaiswal on the sets of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,’ where he was a supervising producer. The duo soon became friends and fell in love with each other. They started dating in 2014.
