His father worked in SBI and was posted in many areas. Abhishek spent his childhood in many different cities mainly in Jamshedpur, Patna and Ranchi.
In 1993, he completed his 10th class from St. Xavier’s School in Ranchi. He then went to Hyderabad for higher education.
After completing his graduation from Delhi, he moved to Mumbai. He did a course in Film and Television Production from the Xavier Institute of Communications in Mumbai.
He began his career as a co-writer and assistant director to Vishal Bhardwaj in the movie Makdee in 2002.
He co-wrote the trendsetting film of 2006, Omkara. He also co-wrote Vishal Bhardwaj’s movie Kaminey.
