She is married in a family where her father-in-law and brother-in-law are the candidates of the Samajwadi Party.

• In April 2026, Prateek Yadav publicly spoke about problems in his marriage and announced plans to divorce Aparna. In some of his social media posts, he accused her of damaging family relationships and said the situation had affected his mental health.

• On 13 May 2026, Prateek died in Lucknow after his health worsened at home. Doctors reached his home and he was taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
