  • While shooting for the Hindi film Shola Aur Shabnam, she met the Indian filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala through the Indian actor Govinda. It was love at first sight for Sajid. Gradually, they became friends and then started dating each other. The couple even secretly got married. Her parents were against her marriage as it was an inter-religion marriage.
  • On 10 May 1992, the couple had a nikah in the presence of a few people. She converted to Islam and changed her name to Sana. Their wedding was kept secret from the media as they believed that it would affect her career.
  • Divya was replaced by the Indian actress Juhi Chawla in the Hindi film ‘Radha Ka Sangam’ (1992) for being too bubbly and childish.
  • She was one of the most-paid actresses in the early 90s. As a newcomer in Bollywood, she signed more than 12 films at a time.

Her house help was also in the apartment. Accidentally, she got imbalanced and fell off the window of her fifth-floor Apartment in Versova, Mumbai.

  • However, some media sources said that she had a tiff with her husband, and her husband murdered her. Whereas some media sources claim it a suicide.
  • After she fell off her apartment’s balcony, she had several injuries on her head and was alive. She was immediately rushed to R.N. Cooper Hospital. However, she died before she was brought to the hospital. Reportedly, when her husband Sajid arrived at the hospital and saw his wife dead, he suffered a minor heart attack.
