  • Shama Mohamed was born in the locality of Cherukallai, near New Mahe in Kannur district, Kerala.
  • She was born and raised in Kuwait where her family had settled and attended the Indian School of Kuwait for her primary education.
  • She started her training in Bharatanatyam from childhood itself, studying the art from the age of seven to 13 and her arangetram took place in Kuwait.
  • In 1990 Mohamed came back to India. She went on to become a dentist and earned her BDS degree from Yenepoya University, Mangalore.
  • In addition to her dentistry studies, she gained experience in the media as a journalist for Zee TV and Maharaja TV.
  • She practiced dentistry at Axiss Dental in the area of Greater Delhi from January 2001 to May 2006.
  • Later, she shifted her base to Dubai and started working at Oris Dental Centre from 2008 to 2014.
  • She later returned to India and started living in Pune.
